Paulette's Biography

Paulette Gutchess, C.A.T., is a Certified Animal Therapist and the founder of Animal Instinct. Paulette teaches Animal CPR and First Aid, Animal Communication and Animal Massage. She complements her work with holistic alternatives and offers private consultations. Her intent is to educate and to empower her clients and students to become knowledgeable in preventative healthcare. Paulette is a public speaker, motivator, writer and teacher.

Her classes are taught through the University of Texas at Austin Informal Classes, Austin Community College Continuing Education, animal organizations, doggie day cares, pet groomers, pet sitters, schools and homes. Paulette has been featured on Fox News, KVUE and KXAN television. In 2002, the University of Texas Department of Radio, Television and Film produced a documentary, Raising Rover, featuring Paulette. John Kelso, columnist for the Austin American-Statesman, has written several articles about her services.

Her sweet dog, Buttercup, brought her attention to the world of animal communicators in 1989. Paulette knew that she and Buttercup had a special connection and later realized she could communicate with all species. She has studied with animal practitioners including Sonya Fitzpatrick, the Pet Psychic, on Animal Planet.

Paulette has joyfully assisted many clients to strengthen their bond and to bridge the gap between themselves and their animal friends.

"Nineteen years ago, I studied with a representative of Penelope Smith. All my life I have loved and cared for animals. Restless and unfulfilled in my administrative position, I prayed for guidance as to how I could work with animals and share my knowledge with others, and to help them learn preventative health care. I decided to attend school to become a Certified Animal Therapist."

My dreams came true when I started Animal Instinct.
